AC Shadows Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that defies traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal statement, "A strange meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of banned ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a secret sect.
The questline focuses on "strange trials and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a striking moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Extra Features
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an special katana alongside multiple objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Content
This update also adds the game's latest complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
